I think it's great that we're all referencing each other through our blogs (Nicole Vad, Rocker 123), and it's like we've become some little community or neighborhood where we all have blogs and... well, it's cool! It's weird that just a week ago or so, only a few of us had blogs, but now? A bunch of us! I gotta leave for track really soon, so see you bloggers around!! Thanks for your time :)

Ode to Project Runway, part 1 out of 4

I was really into Season 9 of Project Runway this past year (and P.R. All Stars just ended and I haven't even watched the finale yet!! Hope Mondo wins; he's the one with the most POTENTIAL (haha, Mom), but if he doesn't, best regards to him!!), so I'm showcasing the final four designers of Season 9's collections here. We have Anya's collection (Anya won; great job!!), Joshua's collection (ewww, everyone hates Joshua), Viktor's collection (Personally I think Viktor shoulda won because he definitely had the best collection, but... can't change the past, I guess...), and Kimberly's collection (I loved her collection! My second fave besides Viktor's). Sooo, first things first- Viktor's awesome collection here (wow, he looks a little creepy in this picture):  Although now that I think about it, I think SOME of Viktor's outfits were awesome, but some of them were also kinda... blah, you know? :) Sorry Viktor... Easy, Flowery Spring Outfit

I'll try to do more fashion posts now since a certain girl by the name of Nicole Vad ;) is persuading me to do more, and she has decided to make her own blog!! It's very flowery, something you could wear casually (with Converse or sandals) or more dressy (with a cute hair accessory- I'm thinking silvery- or a longer skirt). So voila!

Easy Lemon Pound Cake Recipe

I was in a baking sort of mood today, so I decided to make some lemon cake. Here's the recipe, and of course, there are some suggestions from yours truly at the bottom. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients: 
~1/2 cup butter, melted
~1 cup sugar
~2 eggs, well beaten
~2 tablespoon lemon juice
~1/4 teaspoon salt 
~1 1/2 cups flour
~1 teaspoon baking powder
~1/2 cup milk
~1/3 cup lemon juice
~1/4 cup sugar


Directions:
1. Mix together 1 cup sugar and butter.
2. Add eggs and 1 tbsp. of lemon juice; mix well.
3. Add salt, flour, and baking powder to mixture.
4. Add milk.
5. Bake at 325°F in a well-greased loaf pan for 1 hour, or until golden brown.
6. Mix 1/3 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup sugar.
7. Use a toothpick to make holes in top of cake and drizzle lemon juice and sugar mixture over the top of the cake when removed from the oven.
8. Serve warm or cool; makes 8 servings.

I'm annoyed with myself that I haven't been fashion-posting a lot lately (probably cause it was winter, which is my enemy season in fashion, temperature, and creativity), but now that it's SPRING OH BEAUTIFUL SPRING, I'll be posting more on here. So never fear!! :) 

Book List- Seriously People, You Can Trust ME!!

OK everybody, as y'all probably know, I'm a complete and utter bookworm and wordie, so I've always wanted to do a post about book picks. Finally, my aspiration *vocab word!!* is coming true, so here y'all are: a look into the mind of moi, Pinky, in terms of great literature! :) Hope you enjoy!

~The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot (Comment: The main character, Mia, is very realistic and she has a great personality!! Plus, who doesn't want to wake up one morning and find out that you're a princess?? LOL. I just got into these a few weeks ago, and now I'm asking to go to the library every day to get more of them!)
~Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli; Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli (Comment: Stargirl is about this girl ((named Stargirl)) who is kinda strange (((but she's cool to me!))) but it's good. And Love, Stargirl is like that too, except I like it better because it's from Stargirl's perspective.)
~Smile by Raina Telgemeier (Comment: It's pretty funny; it's about a girl who 1) has serious dental problems, and 2) has really mean friends who make fun of her and she just puts up with it. And of course, other stuff mixed in. Great read!)
~Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery (Comment: I know this sounds old, but it's a really imaginative book. I did a book report on it earlier this year, and I really liked it. If you don't want a really long book with small print, I suggest not getting the actual version of the book... get a Great Illustrated Classics copy, which has much less words and it's a lower reading level. Of course, the first version is better, but the G. I. C. is the next best thing.)
~The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin (Comment: Need I say more?)
~How to Rock Braces and Glasses by Meg Haston (Comment: This is about a mean, "popular" girl who has her own TV show for her school and basically publicly embarrasses people in front of the school. Then she gets braces and glasses, and her equally mean friends drop her and she goes down the social ladder and she makes a bunch of new, nice friends. It's a great *happy* ending.)
~Lynn Visible by Julia DeVillers (Comment: About a really fun, quirky, stylish fashion designer named Lynn who is misunderstood by her school because of her awesome, handmade clothes that no one realizes are awesome yet. Then a fashion magazine editor discovers her, and she's made famous, and everyone's like, OMG! Y'know, I was your friend all along, right?? But Lynn finds her TRUE friends, and everybody's happy.)

OMG (oh my gum) people!!!!!! Check out my awesome new addition to my blog: FISH!! *Fish, fish, MOOOOOORE fish* I'm thinking of making each of them a different color, so I can keep track of them and name them :) Oh silly me... I can just picture myself: "Swimmy!! Come get your food! No, no, Fin, not THAT food. That's MERMAID'S food, not YOURS." Sounds like me to me.

Summer Weather in March... Score!

Well, it's definite. I, Pinky, have caught SPRING FEVER. And bad! Regardless of my *sniffle sniffle* allergies to pollen, I am determined to spend as much time as possible outside in the glorious sunshine (don't you just love that word? Gloooorious!). Doing my homework outside, sitting in my special tree in my front yard (that is about to break from me, I'm sure of it!!!) outside, walking around outside, reading like the bookworm I am outside, plus I'll be doing my annual sport of track starting NEXT WEEK, *yippee!* so I'll be doing that outside too. Of course, I'll be sneezing, coughing, rubbing my eyes, and sniffling constantly, but I guess that's the price I'll have to pay. I'll also be using my worst fear: eye drops!! My eyes just involuntarily close when I'm trying to drop some in, and it's SOOO annoying! But if I DON'T open my eyes, then they'll stay puffy, red, and itchy for the rest of the day!! Grrr. At least I don't mind my allergy medication (like my Zyrtec and Singulair) as much... good thing I know how to swallow! Which is more than I can say about my eyes!! Hint, hint, eyes.
Ahhh... all the plants are blossoming so early!! Or, as my mom tells my little brother, that the ground was tricked by the warm weather, so it thinks that it's time for the flowers to come out. Pur-lease, warm weather, trick the ground more often!!! Ciao for now, ~*~Pinky~*~

First Performance: AFTER

That was GREAT! I want to shout out to all the cast and crew members cause we were awesome sauce! I would say our weakest scene/song is the opening one, but we were better than usual, so do you hear me complaining? LOL. And I wanna say thank you to Ms. G and Ms. O for helping us out soooo very much, even though the practices were overkill (but it was worth it, I think). I can't wait to do the very last show... even though it'll be sad when there'll be no performances left... Well, anyhow, great job everybody, and we worked so hard!! *********************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~***********************

First Performance: BEFORE

Oh my gum, I am sooooo very freaked out right now; not nearly as much as when we did our school performance, but still... AIIIIII I have to leave now!! 'Cause we have to be there at 5:45, so we gots to leave @ 5:30 (well, it's 5:29 to be exact, but no one's timing me!)... wish me luck! I don't appreciate the phrase "break a leg" because that is a bad thing, and that is the LAST thing I want to happen to me on stage (besides the audience throwing rotten fruit). So, no breaking legs here, and CIAO!!

"It's Friday, Friday, Gotta Get Down on Friday!"

Yahoooooo; it's Friday and I am a happy girl!! This entire week we were rehearsing for our school play, and we are performing today and tomorrow!! All of our practices were from 3:15 (PM) to 6:00 (Yes, you heard correctly: SIX!!!!), not including Wednesday's practice until SEVEN O'CLOCK AT NIGHT, and yesterday's until 6:30. And boy am I glad to take a load off!!! :P I was really nervous to perform in front of the whole school this morning, but hey: at least we got to miss 4 periods!! Yesterday we performed for the elementary school's 3rd and 4th graders, and we DEFINITELY had our mistakes (more about those later), but they still appreciated it... I think...
I've had such a busy week, so sorry about not being able to blog! I'll catch up, don't you worry!! I'm just savoring my free time before our first real performance. *content sigh* So thank gum for that! ***********************

"The Circle of Life..." I Love the Lion King!!

After going to see the Lion King last night, getting a *slight* stomachache, and coming back home at 11:30 PM (waaaaay late... hey, I need my sleep!), I am totally exhausted and am seriously looking forward to a day at home. Ahhh... I think I'll post a recipe on here later, some sort of dessert! Sounds good to me! ;) Ciao everybody!!

The Two-Days-Before-My-Birthday Blog Celebration
